Voices From Prison

A group of church members and friends meets every Monday at noon, via Zoom, to read, discuss, and offer feedback on poetry written by people from the District of Colombia who are in the Federal prison system. The poets are either teenagers or people who entered the system as teenagers, and they are frequently too far away for family to visit. Their poetry expresses their feelings, reflections on their lives, and visions for the their future. Participating in this group provides a lifeline to these incarcerate individuals and is life-changing for the participants as well.
