Welcome!
Hello! And welcome to the website of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in College Park, Maryland!
I suspect if you are reading this page on our website, you are most likely new to the St. Andrew’s community, or at the very least, are curious about this church. It is our hope that this website will give you a sense for who we are – our mission, our activities, our “personality,” etc. – so please take your time, and explore. To be completely honest, though, our website will only give you a small glimpse or snapshot of who we are. The best way to learn about St. Andrew’s is to visit! The worship of God is a central aspect of who we are, so please come and participate in a worship service one Sunday morning. If you are not quite ready to take that step and would prefer to have a conversation with me (the priest/pastor) either by phone or at a local coffee shop, that is absolutely fine as well! In addition, our church is open most weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., so please feel free to stop by to pray, sit in silence, enjoy the beauty of the sanctuary, or simply to take a break.
Wherever you are in your journey of faith, you are welcome at St. Andrew’s! We are a diverse community of people (older, younger, married, single, divorced, gay, straight, nonbinary) who are seeking to grow deeper in our relationship with God through a life-giving relationship with Jesus; to strive after justice and peace; to guard the dignity of every human being; and to care for one another and the natural world. We do not presume to have all of the answers to life’s biggest questions, but we are committed to walking with each other and supporting each other as we explore the questions.
Again, welcome!
The Rev. Tim Johnson, Rector (Pastor)
