Salisbury Pilgrimage Update

The fundraising for the July pilgrimage to Salisbury Cathedral in England is going extremely well thanks to the many parishioners and others who have contributed. To date, we have raised $24,000 of our $34,000 goal. All twelve of the requested scholarships have been fully funded ($23,000).

A total of 70 individuals will be traveling to England, about half of whom are members of the choir. Funds raised for the pilgrimage will pay for rehearsal space and cover the cost of various activities for the entire entourage including a city tour, group meal, round trip transportation between the airport and Salisbury, and an excursion to the Isle of Wight.

The choir has organized two dinners that have included a silent auction, a raffle for a digital piano, and a cake walk. The success of these events, and the many contributions of auction items, cakes, and the piano demonstrate the enthusiasm of the whole parish for the idea of a pilgrimage to Salisbury Cathedral and the home of the poet George Herbert.

If would like to contribute, write a check to St Andrew’s with “pilgrimage” in the memo line and either mail it to the office or place it in the collection plate. Thank you for your generous support.
