Children's Formation

Children at St. Andrew’s are encouraged to grow in their faith through a variety of activities:

KidSpark, our Sunday school program for children aged pre-K through 5th grade, is offered most Sundays of the school year during the 10:30 a.m. service. Children process out shortly after the start of the service and head to their classrooms with their teachers. They return and rejoin their families in time for Holy Communion. For children who wish to remain in church with their families rather than participate in KidSpark, activity bags are available on a cart near the front doors of the church, and children’s Bibles are located in the pew racks alongside the hymnals. For our youngest children who may need to squirm, a “soft space” is available in the rear of the church where you will find books and soft toys for your child and rocking chairs for parents. The “soft space” is located in the side room on the right as you enter the front doors of the church.

We also offer a choir for children and youth, Joyful Noise. Joyful Noise rehearses on Sunday afternoons, following the 10:30 a.m. service, during the school year, and sings in the Sunday worship service approximately once each month. Children also have the opportunity to have their backpacks blessed at the start of the school year, participate in our no-rehearsal Christmas pageant on Christmas Eve, and take part in other special events. We present Bibles to our kids at milestone ages – storybook Bibles for our younger kids and full Bibles with age-appropriate notes and insights for our older kids.
